I'm in the process of reading Ken Wilbur's "A Brief History of Everything" and am absolutely loving it- since I'm in a period of a bit of insecurity re: external conditions, I'm especially loving how this books seems to sooth my worry mechanisms.

Other books I've read that have been great allies when things were difficult:

Little Prince by Antoine St-Expurey (probably mangled that spelling)
The Places that Scare Us- Pema Chodrun
If on a winter's night a travelor- Italo Calvino
Einstien's Dreams- Alan Lightman
Temple of My Familiar- Alice Walker
Les Miserables- Victor Hugo
About a Boy- Nick Hornby

I made an extensive list of good books to recommend for my friend Sandy in my own journal here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/eversearching/262156.html#cutid1. And I'll try to remember more of the books that I've loved deeply tonight.
