Bird Mountain Road

The 24hr Drive By Gallery in Chico is putting on a community participation art fundraiser. The gallery created large wall size puzzles of interlocking wooden puzzle pieces and the public was invited to pay $10 for a puzzle piece and decorate it any way they want. The pieces are due back tomorrow and will be re-assembled for a one week showing beginning Saturday, May 27 and running through June 2, 2006, on which day there will be a silent auction for the pieces.

[livejournal.com profile] dietcokehed and I are both participating in this show. I just finished up my piece today.

That's really awesome. The green fuzzy stuff looks like the tree-fuzz that collects in the gutters around here, or else pot!

That's really an amazing piece. I wish I could see it in person. The way the colors came out it looks like metallic patina and rust, as though the whole thing had happened naturally over a long time.

Well, this is just so totally cool, I can't even think of the right word to express the appropriate level of coolness.

I like the color of your road! I've seen that color before! :) If I'm ever in Chico...

Wow! That is awesome, Babe! We are very proud of you! I, too, feel like I have been on that road. Good job!

oh my god (if you don't mind the expletive)!!!! How amazing and all the other words the other people who commented used. I'm amazed that it is on wood. I spend my photographing hours searching for natural things that look like this, and usually they are metal when I find them, although there is some old paint. And the one person was right, I feel like I've been on the road. I'm a photographer because I can't come up with images like this, but I'm pretty good at finding them. Maybe sometime I could scan a photo to show you - if you want.

I stopped by the gallery today and...

That's really effin' cool!! You so rock :) I have yet to get by there...tomorrow fo' sho' dammit. I also didn't get a pic of mine, think they'd care if I took a pic at the gallery? Is that kosher? (NOT literally "kosher" for all you smart asses out here waiting to make fun of me)

Paranoid? Maybe.
