No, where's that? We went to Fern Canyon and a couple of book stores in Arcata. I thought of you when I bought a book of poetry by Anne Carson, Glass, Irony and God.
ooh! the tall trees grove is amazing, and it's in Redwood National... i almost don't want to tell you about it, cos you missed it. you have to get a permit (free, easy to do) from the ranger station, and then you drive down a dirty road for 45 minutes, and then you walk down a fern and forest canyon for 45 minutes, and THEN you get to the bottom where it opens up like a cathedral, and THAT is where the tall trees are. so far down no logger could ever haul them up, they are grown up and huge like monuments... you can hear them SINGING, i swear to you, i am not the only one who has heard it. it is a grove unlike any other, because it has never been threatened (or not much) nor traumatized. god, it's one of the most beautiful places ever. you'll go. the next time you're there you must go.
