Last night was the reception and silent auction for the Puzzle Piece Art Show at the 24 Hour Drive-By Art Gallery in downtown Chico. I'm soooo excited because somebody I don't know bid three times on my piece and bought it for $50.00! A real bargain for my early work you know. ;P

Before the reception I took a bunch of photos of the completed puzzles so you could see how freakin' cool this is. I love Chico.

Totally cool! Where's your piece, is it visible in one of these shots?

Looks better in person. You can't see the texture and color very well in this picture. And there are two other pieces hanging over hers.

That's ok, I still like seeing where your piece fits in. What is yours made of?

It's wax, earth, oil pastels and fiber on wood.

what a great showing, i dont know how i missed this one, lately im not in tune i guess, is it still showing? i love this idea, it is one of my favorite concepts, all works together, i really need to get my "little" big feet wet in chico's own art galaxy. congratulations on your sell, thats always so special and a nice surprise.

These are great. I just finished doing a mural project with some kids that pieced together parts of a flower (on Masonite, Velcro to mount to the wall) with each getting petal. These are on another plane though. What was the base material? And how was the overall puzzle developed?

Does anybody looking at these know sign language?

The first set of hands is showing 2 and 4. I assume in 24 Hour Drive By Galler.

I wonder if that second set of hands maybe is signing 'hour'?

Yup. The letters H and R via ASL. nifty.

I am so so glad you got pics!! :)
My mom was mad that I didn't take her with me when I took the kids (well! She had had enough of them that day!) She wanted to see her "grandaughter's works displayed in a gallery". Bah, she can see new ones next year.

And I TOLD you I heard someone wanted your piece! ;)
