I have absolutely nothing funny or witty to say- just sort of wanted to, um, virtualy poke you and say hi? Also, thank you for your support in my journal too.
In liu of adoption, I have excellent books to recommend if taking your mind off of things is what you are going for!
I'm in the process of reading Ken Wilbur's "A Brief History of Everything" and am absolutely loving it- since I'm in a period of a bit of insecurity re: external conditions, I'm especially loving how this books seems to sooth my worry mechanisms.
Other books I've read that have been great allies when things were difficult:
Little Prince by Antoine St-Expurey (probably mangled that spelling) The Places that Scare Us- Pema Chodrun If on a winter's night a travelor- Italo Calvino Einstien's Dreams- Alan Lightman Temple of My Familiar- Alice Walker Les Miserables- Victor Hugo About a Boy- Nick Hornby
I've been curious about Nick Hornby for a while. I haven't read any of his stuff. Maybe I'll give About a Boy a try. His newest one sounds really interesting, too.

I made an extensive list of good books to recommend for my friend Sandy in my own journal here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/eversearching/262156.html#cutid1. And I'll try to remember more of the books that I've loved deeply tonight.
